Obituary of Joseph V. Martinucci

Joseph Martinucci, 78 Businessman, entrepreneur, and loving grandfather Joseph V. Martinucci passed away peacefully on June 15, 2023. He was born on Staten Island on March 31, 1945, to the late Joseph Martinucci Sr. and Rachael DeMartinis. He was born in West Brighton, raised in Port Richmond, and graduated from Port Richmond High School. Joseph married Betty Nichol in 1967 and had two children, Randi Martinucci and the late Brian Martinucci. Loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and cousin, he loved to cook and spend time with his family. Joseph worked for Con Edison until becoming an owner and operator of many businesses, including a boat yard, travel agency, toy store, and property management. Joseph enjoyed helping his community as a member of his Kiwanis Club. Aside from watching the NY Yankees, his hobbies included hunting, boating, fishing, swimming, and scuba diving. An avid music lover, he listened to doo-wop, disco, and ABBA. His love for travel took him near and far to Mexico, Europe, Africa, and the Caribbean. He doted on his grandchildren, Brooke, Jade, and Jason-he enjoyed taking them out for lunch and rides in the car. Joseph is survived by his daughter Randi Martinucci and John Strandberg; grandchildren Brooke, Jade, and Jason Perez; mother-in-law Emma Nichol; nephew Matthew Nichol; sisters Regina Lutz (George) and Stephanie Mollenthiel; brother Ronnie Martinucci (Lisa-Marie); and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. Joseph is predeceased by his wife, Betty Martinucci; son, Brian Martinucci; parents Joseph and Rachael; and sister Estelle Razzano. Memorial Visitation at the Matthew Funeral Home 2508 Victory Blvd. Wednesday from 10AM-1:30PM. Service at the funeral home at 1:30PM. Burial of Cremains to follow at Fairview Cemetery.
