Obituary of Michael R. Csorba

Michael R. Csorba 71, born and raised on Staten Island, passed away peacefully with hi beloved wife Marie of 33 years by his side on June 29, 2023 after a courageous battle with heart Disease. Loving stepfather of Kurt Schmidt and his wife Dana Marie and was the cherished step Grandfather of 4 beautiful step Grandchildren that were the joy of his life. His step Grandchildren, Kurt Jr., Joseph, Gianna and Nicialetta will always remember their step Grandfather as an attentive, Kind, gentle, caring, and generous soul. Michael was born on August 26, 1951, in Staten Island, New York to the proud parents Michael and Angel Csorba. Brother of Irene and John Csorba, Loving Uncle of 4 nieces and 1 nephew. He worked for 35 years promoting the interest and welfare of individuals with intellectual / developmental disabilities. He cared greatly about these individuals and their special needs. Michael enjoyed reading the bible and listening to spiritual tapes. He liked watching TV and baseball and Football. He was always ready to forego the above and take a car ride to explore the countryside with his wife Marie, stop for ice cream, browse Flea Markets. He loved going to the movies and of course the popcorn! Thanksgiving dinner, a Turkey Leg, Mashed Potatoes, Stuffing and Cranberry sauce was his favorite! Anyone that knew Mike, knew he was a selfless person and thankful to have met him. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Friday, departing at 9:00 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Clare’s R.C. Church at 9:45 am. Interment to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Iselin, NJ. Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday and Thursday from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
