Obituary of Michael T. Long

Michael T Long, 39, of Staten Island passed away on June 30th, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Kristen Long for 8 wonderful years; loving father of Matthew, Kaylee, and Aubree. He is survived by his devoted mother Lysa Long; and brother’s Jason and his wife Katie, Rocky and his wife Wanda. He was a dedicated uncle to Kaitlyn, Jason Jr., Christopher, Colin, Riley, Taylor, and Rocky Jr. Michael was born on May 4th, 1984 in Staten Island, New York. When he was a young, he played football for Staten Island Boys football league, as well as baseball for West Shore Little League. He graduated from Port Richmond High School. He worked the last 8 years for the city, at the Department of Transportation. As a young adult he belonged to many different bowling leagues, he was an excellent bowler. He was an avid fan of the New York Jets, and always looked forward to watching Sunday football with his family and friends. He also enjoyed a nice game of golf on a sunny day. Michael loved nothing more than playing with his son and daughters with any spare time that he had. He especially loved attending Matthew’s football games at St Peter’s Boys high school. Michael was a selfless man that cared dearly for his family and friends and he will live on forever in all of our hearts. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Thursday, departing at 10:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family R.C. Church at 11:00 am. Family and friends may visit on Wednesday from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
