Obituary of Nicholas A. Forlenza

Nicholas Alexander Forlenza, 28, of Staten Island, NY succumbed to cancer on July 1, 2023 after a nine-month illness. Nicholas was a lifelong Westerleigh resident. He attended St. Peter’s Boys High School graduating in 2013 under a full academic scholarship where he received the Ironman Award for his contributions to Eagles Football. Nick earned his undergraduate degree in Business Management & Economics from Empire State College in 2018. Despite the physical and mental limitations imposed by his illness, Nick completed his Juris Doctor Degree from Pace Law School in May of 2023. He received an award in recognition of his tenacity in finishing school under the constraints of his illness. Nick approached his varied interests with great enthusiasm. In recent years he traveled, taking a road trip to Denver, Colorado. He also spent a week in New Orleans prior to embarking on a 7-day Caribbean cruise. More recently, his attention turned toward the wide range of media options available. He regularly watched TV shows and listened to podcasts by his favorite actors. Nick was a unique thinker whose mind was always working on something new. He created a Youtube channel called Contentbinger which was an outlet for his pursuits, including his legal studies. He hoped to use Contentbinger as an educational and entertainment medium. Nick was active in sports. He played on a men’s softball team and enjoyed golfing. He has been an avid fan of the Mets and Giants since age 5. Nick spent his best hours with friends and family, watching, attending or participating in sporting events. His analysis of a game was often two steps ahead of the professional broadcasters’ commentary. As a player, Nick’s effort was always above and beyond, even if he did show up to a softball game in cargo shorts and sneakers. Nicholas was a devoted son, a loving brother and a loyal friend. The intensity of his personality intrigued all who met him and many came to love his humor, wit and unique world-view. Nicholas is survived by his parents Theodore Forlenza Sr. and Marie (Russo) Forlenza, and his siblings Theodore Jr. and Angelica Forlenza. He will be profoundly missed by his immediate family, as well as his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and the many friends who loved him. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Nick's Cancer Treatment, organized by his sister, Angelica Forlenza. Angelica Forlenza needs your support for Nick’s Cancer Treatment gofundme for a St Peter's Boy's High School Ironman Scholarship. https://www.gofundme.com/f/c2s6w-help-my-beat-cancer?member=22306087&sharetype=teams&utm_campaign=p_na+share-sheet&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=customer.
