Obituary of Joann Mancuso

Joann Mancuso (nee Gaeta), 74, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2018, at home, surrounded by her loving family.  She was the beloved wife of Salvatore Mancuso for 55 years; loving mother of Karyn Ann Mancuso-Gasser, and Anthony Mancuso and his wife, Catherine; dear grandmother of Olivia, Margaret, and Christian James; dear sister of the late Isabelle Asciolla; fond sister-in-law of Frances Mancuso and the late Anthony Mancuso, Jr.; devoted aunt of Doreen and Vincent Ameduri and many other nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Joann was born in New York, NY.  At age two she moved to Brooklyn, and then relocated to Staten Island with her husband in 1970, settling in Bulls Head.  She was a graduate of New Utrecht High School in Brooklyn.  Some of her hobbies included travelling and gardening, but most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Friday at 10 am.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Pity R.C. Church at 10:30 am.  Entombment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.  Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 7 to 9 pm and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
