Obituary of Rufo Jose O. Peralta

Rufo Jose O. Peralta, 89 of Staten Island, passed away peacefully at Castleton Corners with family by his side on July 8, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Lolita Peralta for 64 wonderful years; loving father of Benedict Peralta, Mike Peralta, Joseph Peralta, Peter Peralta and his wife Honelyn; Bernadette, and her husband Don Cataneo, Jewela and her husband Brian Anova, and was the cherished grandfather of 11 beautiful grandchildren that were the light of his life. His grandchildren Paul, James Benjamin, John Joseph, Charisma, Charmaine, Christine, Prince Benedict, Emmanuel, Charisma, Joshua, and Gavin will always remember their "Lolo" as a caring, generous, funny and thoughtful soul. Rufo was born on December 18, 1933, in Manila, Philippines. He graduated from Far Eastern University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture, and worked many years in the construction industry before immigrating to the United States in the 90's. In his spare time, he loves playing table tennis, going to the mall, and collecting sneakers and baseball caps. Rufo was a selfless person whose family meant everything to him. Family and Friends may visit on Sunday, July 16, 2023, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 9:00pm at Matthew Funeral Home: 2508 Victory Blvd, Staten Island 10314. Followed by funeral mass on Monday, July 17, 2023 at 11:00am at the Blessed Sacrament Church: 1091 Forest Ave, Staten Island 10310.
