Obituary of Felicita Gonzalez
Felicita, affectionately known Ada, a nickname given to her as a child by her older late brother. She was born in Puerto Rico and arrived in the USA at the age of 14. She mastered the English language and articulated well in both Spanish and English. She was smart, crafty, and strong willed. Ada worked hard and loved her family even harder.
Ada, is survived by her daughters, Alicia and Abigail, her grandchildren, John, Amanda, Mariano, Stefan, Roman, Atlee, Myles, Tomae and Chelsea, and great granddaughter, Ayla. She is also survived by her sister, Esther, nephews, Joe, and Fred, nieces, Lucy, Edna, Norma, and Maritza, along with Great-nephews, Juan Carlos, and Steven.
Ada, had a passion for cooking authentic Puerto Rican meals and desserts such as flan, coconut and raisin rice pudding and made batches of Coquito which is a specialty Christmas drink like eggnog. She delicately prepared these dishes with so much love and honor for family and friends for special gatherings and holidays.
Her specialty and signature craft, Pastels were a hit with so many. She crafted each pastel with vegetables, meat and wrapped them nicely in parchment paper, doubled tied them which looked like a nice little present.
She touched so many lives and will be dearly missed. I will miss her as we spent hours on the telephone every night laughing and joking. I will forever hold those memories dear to my heart. It’s not good bye Mama, it’s see you later. I love you and will miss you dearly.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday July, 21st, at 11:00 AM at Blessed Sacrament Church. Inurnment to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
