Obituary of Anthony J. Lauria

Anthony Lauria was born on October 21, 1921 to Rose and John Lauria. He was one of nine children, seven boys and two girls, him being the second born. They shared a tiny two bedroom house on Fillmore Avenue in Meiers Corners. He graduated from Curtis High School. After finishing high school and completing service for his country, he got a job at ITT. This was teletype and ticker tape communications. He met and married Rose Tusa. They raised four sons, John (Donna), Steve (Camille), Bruce (Maryann) and Glenn (Debbie). They were married and blessed with seven grandchildren, Melissa Jean, John Craig, Robert, Thomas, Heather, Lisa, Steven and four great grandchildren, Joseph, Michael, Anthony, Sonya.. He enjoyed going to the Senior Center, where he had many friends. But he never forgot his years in the service. He joined various VFW organizations, including Labetti Post, the Five Star Post. He was an avid gardener growing Tomatoes, Peppers, Basil, Escarole, Peaches, Figs and enjoyed sharing with family and friends. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Monday, departing at 9:15 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rita's R.C. Church at 10:00 am. Entombment to follow in Moravian Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
