Obituary of Rose Ann Fitzpatrick
Rose Ann Fitzpatrick, 86, of Brooklyn NY, Weeki Wachi, FL, and lately of Staten Island, NY, passed away on July 13, 2023, at Carmel Richmond Nursing Home. Rose Ann was the beloved wife of the late Robert J Fitzpatrick. She was the devoted mother of Susan M. Fitzpatrick and her husband Thomas P. Wyman, Diane M. Tucker and her husband the late James W. Tucker, Robert J. Fitzpatrick, Jr and his wife Regan (nee Moran), and the late William R. Fitzpatrick. Rose Ann was the cherished grandmother of Robert S. Tucker and his wife Taurye, and Farrell, Faith, and Finbar Fitzpatrick. Rose Ann was the loving sister of the late John Connolly and Mary McGowan.
Rose was born on December 3, 1936, in Brooklyn NY. She graduated from Bishop McDonnell High School and worked in customer service for the Lincoln Bank (prior to her marriage in 1955) and later for Sears, Roebuck, and Co. Rose was good with numbers and in addition to managing the family budget assisted family and friends with their income tax filings. Her number one occupation, however, was caring for her family. Rose and her husband Bob were active members of the Mary Queen of Heaven parish club where they were regulars at dances and shows. Rose was active with the Rosary Society, the Altar Society, and volunteered as a religious studies instructor. After a full life raising their family in Brooklyn Rose retired with her husband Bob to Weeki Wachi, FL where they enjoyed years of fun in the sun with new friends met through many activities including their Mixed Nuts bowling team, parties with the Heather Homeowners Association, visits from family and friends, and many trips throughout the US and Europe.
Following the death of her husband Rose moved to the Esplanade on Staten Island to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Rose Ann was an integral part of life at the Esplanade joining in many of the activities and holiday festivities. She was a fierce bingo competitor and a staunch participant in Ladies Club Activities. Rose Ann occasionally authored uplifting essays for the Esplanade monthly newsletter. Rose Ann's smile could light up a room and it was hard to resist her good spirits.
Rose Ann was a beloved wife and mother, a loyal and steadfast friend, and kind and generous neighbor. She lived a full life; to know her was to love her.
