Obituary of Donna M. LaForgia

Donna Marie LaForgia- Comito, born and raised in Brooklyn, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on July 27, 2023 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Loving mother of Dayna Comito and her partner Ralph Mastrantonio and Nicole Bellmier and her husband Mark. Grandmother of 3 beautiful grandsons, Mark, Michael, and Leo, who were the joy of her life. Donna was born May 3, 1960, in Brooklyn NY to the proud parents of Frank and Josephine LaForgia. Donna moved to Staten Island in 1992 with her family, settling in Todt Hill. Loving and devoted sister of Cindy LaForgia, loving aunt to her many nieces and nephews. Donna (Mima) enjoyed spending quality time with her 3 grandsons. She took every opportunity to sneak them junk food and soda. She enjoyed her Friday night Card games with family and friends. She loved to travel, tan, and enjoy an occasional amoretto sour. The Atlantis in the Bahamas was her home away from home. Holidays, and summer BBQ's with her family were very special to her. After every family gathering an envelope was waiting for each family member with the photos from that event. She shared some of her most special moments with her sister and best friend Cindy. Donna was a selfless person who put everyone she loved before herself. There was no conversation off limits with her. She never wavered on her ways even throughout her fearless battle. Being there for her children and grandchildren was her main priority until her last moments. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Wednesday, departing at 10:00 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Teresa's R.C. Church at 10:45 am. Entombment to follow in Moravian Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Monday from 6:00 to 9:00 pm and Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
