Sorry to hear of Scottys passing. Many moons ago my Dad and Scotty played on some of the West Side teams of the 50's mainly. He also coached me on a number of occasions. I even went to one of the first Junior Olympic Volleyball Camps he had up at Port Jervis. RIP Scotty.....Arnie

Rest in peace. Scotty Mose was my first volleyball mentor. His knowledge was vast, with presence and charisma to match. He inspired countless athletes and coaches. A life well-lived.

My condolences to the family. I had not seen uncle Scotty too much the last few decades, but saw him lots growing up. He had a lot of charisma and personality, and a positive outlook. I know he was a mentor for many young people, he left his mark in a totally unselfish way. He was also blessed with a great family. Cousin Michael

Scotty changed my life, as a player and a person. I'll never forget my first day meeting him 38 years ago at the LIBA tryouts- I was 12, I knew no one, and he said to me 'if you work hard, you will go to college on a scholarship.' I didn't even know that was a possibility. So we all worked hard. Scotty yelled at us when he was correcting, and he yelled even louder when we did something well. And that's one of the many ways we knew he cared. Because of what Scotty taught me, I did play at a D1 school on a full ride. Just as important, because of Scotty, I also made friends for life, and I became the person I am today - full of grit and determination, who knows the profound impact one coach and teammates can have.
