I met Marla through cabbage patch groups. She was always so full of life and seem to bring joy in everything she did. I loved reading her post and about her adventures, and all the things she would make and do. She loved hard and was one of the best people I know. She cared so much for everyone around her. The world is a darker place without her in it.. I used to love seeing her and her friend post about their cabbage patch dolls. She named one of her dolls Dawn after a friend of hers that past. She was a great person and I am going to miss her dearly. There's a song I used to sing when I was sad. It was the Mary Tyler Moore theme song Who can light the world up with their smile is one of the Lyrics. Well Marla lit the world up with her smile, and I am sure she is doing the same in Heaven right now. RIP Marla, you were a star while you were on earth and now you can rest in peace knowing you made a difference <3

I met Marla through social media (a Facebook group). She was such a positive voice for all adults with disabilities. There were over 300 comments from people who loved and will miss her. She made bracelets, hats, scarfs and everyone loved supporting her. Through all her recent hospitalizations we never thought we would lose her. She was so strong. She is missed and I send condolences to her family (and Ernie).

One of my favorite things to do was to fly to NY & kidnap Marla and go on an adventure! These pictures are from some of our many adventures. I got her to go on a train. She hadn't been on one since she was a kid because she was terrified but when it came to going to see NKOTB she agreed to do it & loved it. We went to Bethel twice, the last time last summer to see The Beach Boys & The Temptations (tie-dye pic), We went to Boston and ate at Novara, Jordan Knight's restaurant, We went to Kauffman Studios to the museum of the moving image and got to see all of the Sesame Street and Jim Henson stuff earlier this year... I made her get out of the car and take three steps at Bear mountain so that she could officially tell people that she walked the Appalachian trail. ;) And the last picture I took her to the Goodwill clearance center earlier in the day before. We went to Carnegie Hall in January and she picked out a tutu and a frog hat and loved it with her Joe shirt and threatened to wear it to Carnegie Hall. Lol.
Marla... I am going to miss you so much! More than words can even begin to describe. You had the biggest heart of anybody I've ever met in my life, and I truly believe that you were an angel on Earth. I thought that since the day I met you at the Staten Island Ferry to give you that concert ticket. The best decision I have ever made was friending you on Facebook after that. You changed my life and I will always be grateful. I love you.

Marla you were the sweetest Blockhead. We met after being matched together for a gift exchange. We talked and became friends. I learned a lot about you and we loved to share over our love for New Kids and I absolutely adored your handmade gifts. I promise that I will wear the bracelets you made me to the concert next year so that you will be with me dancing to our favorite Boys in the Band. She loved New Kids on the Block, her baby Ernie, and Sesame Street. RIP my friend and fly high sweet Angel!
