Obituary of Mary Vallese

Mary Vallese, 98 years young, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2023. She was the beloved wife of the late Nicholas (1995), loving mother of her devoted daughter Marie Salerno and husband John and Devoted son Sam Vallese and Debra and the late daughter-in-law Sharon (1998). She was the beloved Grandmother of Nichole Duran and her husband Leonel, Carl Vallese and his wife Fran, Lisa and her husband Alex Ziselman, John Salerno and wife Diamond, Shannon and her husband Eddie Romeo, Danielle Odessa and Stephanie Neumuller. Mary was also the great Grandmother of Ava, Madeline, Nina, Leonel, Penelope, Gianna, Christopher, Sienna and Eddie. Mary was born on Staten Island, raised in Mariners Harbor and settled in Westerleigh. She went to McKee High School. She worked in her family's business, Migliore's Dry Goods store on Richmond Terr. Mary was very proud of her family roots. Mary was from the greatest Generation and was a skilled seamstress and a wonderful cook. She made the best lasagna and made the simplest dishes that were absolutely delicious. Mary enjoyed shopping, playing cards with her friends and most of all enjoyed spending time with her Family. Unfortunately, Mary became dependent on home health care aids and became very fond of Karmara, Eva and Angela. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Tuesday, departing at 10:00 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family R.C. Church at 10:30 am. Interment to follow in Ocean View Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Monday from 3:00 to 8:00 pm.
