Obituary of Gregory Lee Davis

Gregory Lee Davis was born July 26, 1954 to the union of Daniel and Russell Davis in Manhattan Harlem hospital. Greg was a twin to his sister Florence Davis and has 10 brothers. We moved to from Brooklyn NY to Staten Island in 1962 to Stapleton projects. Greg attended P.S. 14 elementary school, I.S.49 Jr. High school, and Wagner High school. Greg enlisted into the Navy, based in West Virginia- and after his 4 year term was over he spoke fondly of his time in the Navy and his worldly travels. He was truly proud of this accomplishment. Greg always remained in Staten Island, where he meant the mother of his children Rutherford Engel. They raised 3 children- Danielle Walker, Christina Flores, and Jacklyn Nygaard. He was a proud grandfather to Breana, Samantha, Evan, and Elijah. He also was proud and grateful for his son in law Quran Walker. Greg was charismatic, patient, caring, and generous when he could be. Greg maintained wonderful friendships and relationships with a network of childhood friends. A true testament of the type of friend he always was. Greg was always supportive and had a uniquely good relationship with each of his siblings. Greg made mistakes in his life, he made amends, and acknowledged his past transgressions. Greg was soft spoken, expect when watching, playing, or at a sporting event. He loved to have a great time and at times shared his big sense of humor though a quiet soul. Greg wasn't a big talker but loved to debate and engage in conversations about current events- and sports. Greg loved his nieces and nephews. He was especially impactful with his nephews giving them guidance and inspiration as they were growing into young men. Greg leaves behind his 3 daughters- Danielle Walker, Christina Flores, Jacklyn Nygaard. His grandchildren Breana, Samantha, Evan, and Elijah. The mother of his children Ruthie Engel and his son in law Quran Walker. His siblings Robert Quinn, Darrell Davis, Kirt Davis, and Florence Davis. With an abundance of special nieces and nephews, cousins, and a plethora of friends. Greg is now with our family in heaven who has passed away- his parents Daniel and Russell Adgers Davis, his siblings Ronald Quinn, Carl Quinn, Richard Quinn, William Quinn, Kevin Quinn, Danny Davis, Dennis Davis- and his loving nephew Jayson Quinn.
