Obituary of Genevieve A. Chiarito

Genevieve A. Chiarito (nee Buscilano), 102, passed away peacefully at home on October 6, 2023. She was the beloved wife of the late Angelo Chiarito (1985); loving mother of Anthony Chiarito and Maryann Lauria and her husband Bruce; cherished grandmother of Nicole Nolte (Ren), Nadine Chiarito, Heather Moscola (Joseph) and Lisa Lauria (Rodger Ramirez); devoted great-grandmother of Anthony Ramirez, Connor and Molly Nolte; dear sister of the late Vincent Buscilano. Mrs. Chiarito was born and raised in Manhattan and relocated to Staten Island after her marriage to Angelo. Genevieve was mainly a homemaker, proudly raising her two children, but also worked in the Accounting field for an insurance company and Commodities Agencies, as well as a tea importer. She was a very religious, prayerful woman. Genevieve loved taking care of her family, and enjoyed cooking, baking, and shopping. Everyone loved her pineapple upside down cake. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Tuesday, departing at 9:15 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rita’s R.C. Church at 10:00 am. Interment to follow in Moravian Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
