Obituary of Josephine A. Di Donna

Josephine A. Di Donna, age 74, passed away on November 18, 2017, at Richmond University Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of Salvatore for 54 years; loving mother of Salvatore and his wife, Monica, and Christopher and his wife, Michele; cherished grandmother of Salvatore, Sophia, Samantha, Christopher, and Alexis; dear sister of Donato Ruggiero, Jr., and Marie Rizzo, and the late Anthony Ruggiero. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Born in Brooklyn on March 21, 1943, in Brooklyn, she was raised there, and graduated from Bay Ridge High School. She relocated to the Graniteville section of Staten Island in 1978. In her younger years she worked for the Attorney General’s Office in Manhattan. Later she was employed as an Office Manager for Plant Operations of Staten Island University Hospital. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, cooking (especially Sunday Dinners). Her meatballs were the best!!! Most important, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
