Obituary of Joseph Colombo Jr.

Joseph Colombo Jr., 72, of Heartland Village passed away at his home on November 6, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Joanne, loving father to Stephanie and Victoria, and the beloved brother of Anthony, John, and Christopher. He was predeceased by his brother Carmine, and his parents Joseph Sr. and Giovanna Colombo. He was also a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. Joseph was born in Brooklyn on April 12, 1951, and moved to Staten Island with his wife in 1979. He was a graduate of John Jay High School and the City College of New York. He worked as an x-ray technician at Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn for 40 years. In his free time Joseph enjoyed gardening, going to the beach, trading options, photography, watching Star Trek with his daughters, and traveling. He especially loved cruising with his wife and daughters. They also enjoyed going to Lincoln Center to see the Philharmonic perform. He loved listening to many different genres of music. Friends and Family may visit the Matthew Funeral Home on Sunday, November 12 from 2:00 to 5:00 and from 7:00 to 9:00. Funeral departing on Monday November 13 at 9:15AM. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick's Church. Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
