Obituary of Helen Giamella

Helen Hollywood Giamella of Staten Island, passed away peacefully on November 28,2023 at age 95. Helen is predeceased by her parents, Richard Hollywood and Myrtle Darrin, her husband of 56 years Thomas Giamella, her siblings; Gertrude, Richard, Robert and Jack, as well as her sons-in-law Francis Wolfe and John Vigliotti. She is survived by her daughters Laura and Linda and sons John (Jodilynn) and Thomas(Carmen). Her grandsons James Wolfe (Nicole) and John Giamella, her granddaughters Jennifer Allegre (Rob), Kristin Morgan(Ryan), Allison Galante (Jimmy), Brigitte Watson(Justin), Laurie Stenson(Alan) and Jamie Del Priore (Stephen), eleven great grandsons and one on the way. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Helen was raised in West Brighton Staten Island, where she attended P.S18 and McKee high school. She and her husband settled in Westerleigh, where they raised their family. Helen enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She liked to travel and took numerous cruises. Helen also enjoyed taking day trips to Atlantic City and attending lunches at the Staten with her childhood friends. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at Matthew Funeral Home on Friday December 1, 2023 from 4-8pm. There will be a service at 10:00 am on Saturday December 2,2023 at Matthew funeral home, followed by a burial at St. Peter's Cemetery.
