Obituary of Gelsomina Napoletano

Gelsomina Napoletano, 95, of Staten Island, formerly of Brookly and Italy, passed away suddenly on December 22, 2023. She was the beloved wife of the late Nicola (2009); beloved mother of Angela Napoletano, Michael Napoletano (Gloria), and late Dominick Napoletano; cherished grandmother of Nicholas, Alyssa, Marielle, Tallia, and the late Michael; devoted great-grandmother of Nolan and Ledger. She was preceded in death by Irene Denaro. Mrs. Napoletano was born and raised in Italy, and came to the United States at age 18, settling in South Brooklyn. She later relocated to Gravesend, Brooklyn. Gelsomina moved to Staten Island two months ago. She was a proud homemaker who loved taking care of her family. She was the peacemaker of the family, who kept calm and kept things together. Gelsomina was the true definition of homemaker and was an excellent cook. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Friday, December 29, 2023, departing at 10:00 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family R.C. Church at 10:30 am. Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation on Thursday, December 28, 2023, from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
