Obituary of Lynn Roschbach
It is with heavy hearts that we bid farewell to Lynn Roschbach of Port Richmond. Lynn, a retired Lead Radiology Clerk, passed away unexpectedly on January 1, 2024. She is the beloved wife of James, loving mother of Michael and Jackie McDonagh (Michael) and beloved grandmother of Madison Roschbach, Reagan and Mickey McDonagh.
Lynn was born on June 26, 1949 and raised in Staten Island, NY. She was a graduate of Port Richmond High School and later completed an associate program at the College of Staten Island. She worked for Staten Island University Hospital-South Site for over 30 years and had made many close friendships during her time there. Even after her retirement, she continued to work in the hospital as a per diem as she enjoyed the work she did there. During her time in Port Richmond, she made long-lasting friendships while working at St. Roch’s church. Many years ago, she volunteered her time at the St. Roch’s CCD program where she helped organize many activities such as children sacraments, CCD enrollment and the Family Fun Fair.
Lynn was known for her big heart and selfless nature. She would never hesitate to give a helping hand, lend a listening ear or give a shoulder to cry on. She meant so much to so many people in her life. Whoever saw her radiant smile, immediately became her friend. Her love was infectious. More than anything, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She looked forward to making memories and going on “adventures”, whether it be traveling to different places on vacation, going out to lunch with her friends, taking day trips with her children, or being present at each of her grandchildren’s events. Her grandchildren meant the world to her, and she was the light in their eyes.
She will be dearly missed by her sisters, Gina Hearty, MaryEllen Yost, and Naureen Russo (Thomas) and brother-in-law Fred Steiniger as well as her many loving nieces, nephews and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Edward Hearty & Rita (nee: Teehan) along with her sister Carol Steiniger and her brother-in-law Robert Yost.
This tremendous loss will be felt by many. May she rest with the angels and watch over us all.
