Obituary of Anthony J. Cosentino

Anthony J. Cosentino of Manalapan, New Jersey passed away January 7, 2024 at Seaview Rehabilitation Center. Born at Staten Island Hospital, he spent some of his childhood in Brooklyn before re-locating to Silver Lake, where he would continue to live for the majority of his life. A graduate of Curtis High School, Anthony was an avid lover of all sports and a multi-sport athlete. He worked at St. Mary's Cemetery for 30 years and enjoyed spending his free time on his boat "Surprise II" at his summer home in Mystic Island, NJ. Known affectionately by everyone as "Cos", he also enjoyed spending time rooting for his favorite teams including the Yankees, Rangers, Knicks, and Indianapolis Colts. Anthony was also a fan of great music including bands like Led Zeppelin, The Police, Carlos Santana, and The Beatles. Once retired, he enjoyed golfing, spending time with his friends at the Ocean Yacht Club, watching classics on Turner Classic Movies, and being with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Mary, son Anthony Jr., daughters Virginia, Nina, and Mary, and seven grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Seaview Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in honor of Anthony. Family and friends may visit the Matthew Funeral Home, 2508 Victory Blvd Staten Island, NY on Thursday, January 11th from 3-8PM. A Memorial Service will be held at the Calvary Church, 30 Maple Parkway, Staten Island, New York 10303 on Friday, January 12, 2024 at 2 PM.
