Obituary of Antonina Filingeri

With a heavy heart Antonina (Nina) Filingeri, 85, of Westerleigh, passed away in her home peacefully on January 26,2024. She was born on November 8,1938. Amazing wife to her late husband Domenico Filingeri who passed away in September 22, 2022. She is survived by her two children Sal Filingeri and Maria Filingeri-Hjalte. Mother in-law to Eric and Tara and most of all, a loving nonna to Veronica, Christopher, Sophia, and Olivia. Antonina was born in Palermo, Italy. After she got married they moved to New York in 1969. She First lived in queens then settled in Staten Island in 1973. She was a seamstress and a homemaker. She enjoyed her moments with her grandkids the most and being around family. She enjoyed gardening, shopping, cooking and loved every holiday. She also loved to talk and entertain family and friends. She was loved by many, she always had a heart of gold and always smiled. For those who knew her she will be missed dearly.
