Obituary of Gerard J. Burke

Gerard J. Burke, age 82, of Westerleigh, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Connie; loving father of Heather Burke and her husband Colin Day, and Gerard G. Burke and his wife Kelly Burke; cherished grandfather of Ava and Madden Burke, and Oliver and Ella Day; dear brother of Peggy Maneri. He was predeceased by his two brothers.

Gerard was born in New York, NY on December 13, 1935 and raised in the Greenwich Village neighborhood. He relocated to Staten Island in 1990. In his spare time he loved listening to music and sports, especially Horse Racing. Most of all, his favorite time was time spent with his family.

Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Friday, departing at 9:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family R.C. Church at 10 am. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Red Bank, NJ. Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
