Obituary of Alfred D. Pavelec
Alfred D. Pavelec, 77, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2024. He was the loving father of Jaclyn Pavelec-Ceesay and her husband Kebba; Jennifer Felker and her husband John; and Janice Pavelec. He was a beloved brother to Cyndy DeBiase; grandfather to nine children; and a proud uncle.
Alfred was born in Staten Island and is a graduate of Port Richmond High School. He served in the United States Air Force and retired from the New York City Transit Authority. After retirement, he was a well-loved bartender at Schaffer’s Tavern. Eventually, he moved to Cape Coral, FL.
As a player on the legendary Silvestri Service Station softball team, he was inducted into the Staten Island Sports Hall of Fame. He enjoyed golfing, playing softball, watching soccer, visiting Atlantic City, and spending time with friends and family.
Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Friday, departing at 9:15 am. Funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 am, at the Christ Episcopal Church (76 Franklin Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10301). Visitation at the funeral home on Thursday, from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
