Obituary of Lillian Gail Matos

Lillian G. Matos passed away on March 1, 2024. She was the beloved wife of Jorge Matos II, loving mother of Christopher Bracey, Jorge Matos III, Tamara Matos, Reva Matos, Holito Matos. Lillian was also the loving grandmother to 16 grandchildren and one great grandchild. She is also survived by one brother Sammie-Ruben Bracey. Lillian’s father, Sammie Bracey was born in Hoffman, South Carolina and his mother Bessie Abbiegail Roberts was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Lillian attended and graduated from Fifth Avenue High School and Schenley High School, completing her education at the College of Staten Island. Lillian dedicated over 45 years in the healthcare industry. She retired from Carmel Richmond Nursing Home. Lillian was born in Pittsburgh, PA and moved to the Bronx in 1973. Eventually, she settled in Staten Island in 1980. Lillian loved spending time with her family and occasionally a trip to a casino and a concert. She loved to read and listen to music. Her favorite song was Simply Red Holding Back the Years. She was a member of the Protective Order of the Elks Lodge, Raritan Temple #218, Staten Island, NY. Lillian was also a proud member of the Pentecostal Faith Church of God. Friends and Family may visit the Matthew Funeral Home, 2508 Victory Blvd on Saturday 3/9 from 2-6 PM. A funeral service will be held at Matthew Funeral Home on Saturday at 4:30PM.
