Obituary of Theresa E. Gordon

Theresa E. Gordon (nee DiPietro), age 70, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2018, at her home in Manchester, NJ, surrounded by her loving family, after a long battle with lung cancer. She was the beloved wife of Adrian Gordon for 50 years, loving mother of Elaine Carmichael and her husband, Paul, Michele DiMare and her husband, John, and Andrea Cassano and her husband, Anthony; cherished grandmother of Alyssa, Christopher, Isabella, and Carolyn. She was the loving daughter of the late Carmelo and Caroline (nee DeMartino) DiPietro and was predeceased by her brother Guy DiPietro. Born and raised in Brooklyn, she resided most of life in Staten Island, before settling in Manchester, NJ, eight years ago. She was an alumna of New Utrecht High School in Brooklyn. Theresa started her career at New York Board of Fire Underwriters, in NYC, before leaving the work force to raise her family. Mrs. Gordon taught religion at Holy Family R.C. Church and enjoyed crossword puzzles and shopping from QVC. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., on Friday, departing at 9:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family R.C. Church at 10 am. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
