Obituary of Alice "Lizzy" Tripi

On May 5, 2024, at the age of 99, Alice “Lizzy” Tripi passed away peacefully at her home with loved ones by her side. She is survived by her nephew Michael Baronick, niece Tracey Sozzi-Wilson (Michael Wilson), nephew Michael Baronick (Kelly), niece Marianne Rivera (Ruben), her stepchildren Vivian, Janice, and Charles and numerous beloved great nieces and nephews. Alice was preceded in death by her beloved husband Charlie, her parents Antonio and Amelia Stola, her siblings Anna Salvio (Albert), Joseph Stola (Julia), brother Philip, her niece Joan Baronick and nephew Thomas Sozzi.

Born in Manhattan, Alice was a skilled seamstress, specializing in crafting men’s suits. After a brief move to California, she made New York her permanent home, settling on Staten Island. In the early 1970s, she met the love of her life, Charlie, who passed away in 2007. Together, they shared a passion and love for cooking and annually hosted clam bakes for their family. Alice also enjoyed fishing with Charlie, often reeling in impressive catches.

Alice’s love for her family knew no bounds, and she was known as the life of every gathering. She found joy in dancing, watching cowboy movies, and cheering on her favorite game shows. Cooking, singing, and reminiscing about her childhood brought her immense happiness. Despite marrying late in life, Alice and Charlie shared a deep and enduring bond.

She adored her German Shepherd, Smokey, and treasured traditions like Christmas Eve gatherings. Fiercely independent well into her 90s, Alice embodied strength and resilience. Her radiant spirit, kindness, and love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in  Alice’s name to her favorite charity St Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

May she rest in eternal peace.
