Obituary of Joseph Cortapasso

Joseph Cortapasso 7/17/54 – 5/2/18 Joseph Cortapasso was the first born of 8 children to Joseph R. Cortapasso and Margaret (Mahoney) Cortapasso. Joseph passed away on May 2, after a short illness. Born in Brooklyn, Joseph later moved to New Jersey settling in Hoboken. There he raised his beloved dogs Kelly and Cali. At one time Joseph owned his own businesses. Upon the death of his father in 2011 Joseph moved to Virginia Beach to care for his mother and niece Tiffany. Joseph leaves behind his siblings- John Cortapasso (JoEllen), Joann Wojcik (Elliot), Carol Olveira, Peter (Maria) and Paul (Iris). Joseph was predeceased by his parents Joseph & Margaret his two sisters Margaret and Barbara. He also leaves behind 7 nieces, 6 nephews, 2 great nieces and 1 great nephew. As well as his aunts, uncle and cousins. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 19th from 2-5 pm at Matthew Funeral Home, 2508 Victory Blvd., Staten Island, N.Y. 10314.
