Obituary of Carol A. Messina

Carol Messina (nee Wilson), 67, passed away on June 15, 2024, in Staten Island, NY.  Born in Brooklyn, NY, Carol moved to Staten Island after marriage in 1980. Carol was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is best described by her family as a force; she had undeniable energy and love for life.

Carol worked in administration at NY Container Terminal for nearly 18 years. Most recently she found a home working at Richmond University Medical Center. 

Carol is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Michael; son Jeffrey, and daughter-in-law, Kaitlin; daughter Stacy, and son-in-law, Stephen. She adored being a grandmother to her grandchildren, Olivia, Fiona, Sebastian, and Stephen. Carol was a beloved sibling to her sisters, Debra and Susan, and her brother Steven. She is preceded in death by her mother Rosemary and father William Wilson.

Carol was a talented baker and wonderful cook; she loved to bake something special for any occasion. Carol loved shopping and spending time with loved ones, but her greatest joy of all was her grandchildren.

Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home Thursday, June 20, 2024, departing at 9:15am.  A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Adalbert’s Church at 10:00am.  Burial to follow at Calverton National Cemetery.  Family and friends may visit on Wednesday from 2-4PM and 7-9PM.
