Obituary of Robert W. Sivori

Obituary: #545 Detective Specialist Robert Sivori, NYPD Emergency Services Unit

July 12, 1981- July 7, 2024

Detective Specialist Robert Sivori, a dedicated member of the Emergency Services Unit (ESU) of the New York City Police Department (NYPD), passed away on July 7, 2024, at the age of 42. Born in Brooklyn, New York, on July 12, 1981, Rob was the beloved son of Robert Sivori and Joanne Sivori. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Lillian, and a loving father to their three children, Robbie (7 yrs.), Nicholas (3 yrs.), and Leila (11 months). He also leaves behind his brother, John Sivori (Veronica), sister-in-law, Christine Hodge (Frederick). Robert is the beloved uncle to John and Ashleigh Sivori and Gabriella and William Hodge. He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He cherished his family above all else and found joy in spending time with them, whether it was cooking up a world class BBQ, attending his children's athletic events, or family vacations to LBI. Anyone who knew him would describe him as a true gentleman, "ball-busta" and family man.

He grew up with a passion for service and justice, which led him to pursue a career in law enforcement, following in the footsteps of his great grandfather, grandfather and father, alongside his brother, who were all members of the NYPD.

Rob joined the NYPD in 2005 after graduating Saint John's University where he was a proud member of the Iota Alpha Sigma "The Knights" fraternity. He quickly distinguished himself through his unwavering commitment to protecting and serving the community. Throughout his 19.5-year career, he exemplified the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and bravery. His colleagues remember him as a compassionate officer who always put others before himself.

Rob will be remembered for his courage, his kindness, generosity, love of good food, forehead kisses, the best steak, humor, and above all, his selfless devotion to his family and community.

His passing leaves a monumental void in the hearts of his family, friends, fellow officers, and the countless lives he touched throughout his service.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, from 3:00 pm to 9:00pm at Matthew Funeral Home located at 2508 Victory Blvd, Staten Island, NY.

A funeral service will be held on July 11, 2024, at 11:00 am at the Assyrian Orthodox Church of Virgin Mary at 644 Paramus Rd, Paramus, NJ 07652, followed by interment at George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery at 234 Paramus Rd, Paramus, NJ 07652.

Robert Sivori's legacy of service and sacrifice will forever be cherished and honored by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
