Obituary of Henryk Kozyra

Henryk "Henry" Kozyra, 74, a loving father and grandfather and respected plumber, died suddenly on August 20, 2024 in Brooklyn, NY, after a courageous battle against lung cancer.

Henryk was born to Jan Kozyra and Janina Turczyniak, on November 1, 1949, in Lukowa, Poland. He is the oldest of his three siblings Teresa, Ryszard and Janusz. He was a devoted husband of 50 years to his wife Danuta, an amazing father to their two daughters, Aneta and Magdalena, and two sons, Artur and Andrzej and a loving grandfather to five grandchildren, Nathan, Konrad, Kinga, Sebastian and Claudia; they were the world to him and he was the world to them.

After immigrating to New York in 1991, through hard work and dedication, Henryk established a successful business known as H.K. Mechanical Service Corp., a full-service plumbing company; fulfilling a dream, he was extremely proud of. Henryk was an avid fisherman and loved being out in nature, especially in his beloved Poconos, where he would teach the young adepts (grandchildren) the intricacies of fish hook tying. He enjoyed watching tennis on TV and in person, annually attending the U.S. Open tournament.

Henryk was a man of God and a valued member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish, in Brooklyn, NY, inconspicuously volunteering his time and master plumbing skills. He was an extraordinary man who acted as an ordinary one; he loved fully, was loved and respected and will be missed by many.
