Obituary of Cecilia Biondo

Cecilia Biondo, 96, passed away on August 22, 2024. She was predeceased by her devoted husband of 58 years, Mariano, as well as her beloved children Marianne Angelini and Louis Biondo, and her parents and siblings. She is survived by her three grandchildren, Robert Biondo, Nikki Angelini and Nikki Biondo, as well as her daughter-in-law, Annie Biondo. 

Cecilia was a faithful member of the CYO Center in Staten Island, where she once served as Vice President. She enjoyed regular trips to Atlantic City, and vacationing in South Florida with her husband and family. 

She was born to Catherine Andrews and Robert Veloce in Manhattan on April 19, 1928, and was one of 13 children. In 1960 she moved to Canarsie, Brooklyn where she was a homemaker devoted to raising her children. Cecilia was active in St. Jude’s parish before moving to Staten Island in 1998 where she was a member of St. Roch’s parish. 

The visitation will be at Matthew Funeral Home on Thursday, August 29th from 5-8pm. Funeral service will be held at St. Roch’s Church on Friday, August 30th at 10am, with interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
