Obituary of Lee C. Jacobsen

Lee C. Jacobsen (nee Amodeo), age 97, of Whiting, NJ, formerly of Westerleigh and Great Kills, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2018 at Eger Nursing Home. She was the former wife of the late Walter J. Jacobsen; loving mother of Victor Lee Jacobsen and his wife, Liliana, and the late Walter Lee Jacobsen; cherished grandmother of Victor C. Jacobsen, Michael Lee Jacobsen, Philip Fonseca, Walter A. Jacobsen, Keith Jacobsen, and Eric Jacobsen; fond great-grandmother of several great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her eight siblings. Lee was born in 1921, in New York, NY. She was brought to Staten Island as a young child. Over the years she was employed at numerous locations such as Garber's Department Store, Majors Department Store, EJ Corvettes, Seaview Nursing home as a Dietician and at Costco as a food sampler. She owned a restaurant with a friend in South Beach named Ronnie's. She also worked for many years at Proctor and Gamble and retired as a Line Operator. Some of her hobbies included trips to Atlantic City, cooking, boating, dancing, and social clubs. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Friday, departing at 10 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Clare's R.C. Church at 11 am. Interment will follow in Ocean View Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
