Obituary of Marie Rose DeJohn

Marie (Lewis) DeJohn, age 96, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2024. She leaves behind many cherished memories as the matriarch of a beautiful family. Marie is predeceased by her husband Rocco and her son Gregory DeJohn. She was the devoted mother to her daughters, Claudia Saraceno and Lorraine DeJohn. She was also a loving mother-in-law to John Saraceno and Paula (Intelisano) DeJohn. Marie was a proud grandmother to Brooke and Damian Pesola, Raquel Tagliavia, and Christine Saraceno, and a beloved great-grandmother to Isis Jade, Zayn, and Gianna. She is also survived by her wonderful nieces and nephew. Marie's life was filled with love for her family, a passion for ice cream, and the joy of shopping the sales. Her presence brought happiness to everyone around her, and her memory will be a blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Funeral arrangements will be held on Tuesday, September 3, from 3-7 PM at Matthew Funeral Home, 2508 Victory Blvd, Staten Island, New York, 10314 with interment to follow on Wednesday, September 4. Interment details to follow. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Marie's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
