Obituary of Gerald "Jerry" Costello

Gerald "Jerry" Costello of Staten Island, NY and Lake Wallkill, Sussex, NJ, was born on September 26, 1952, in Brooklyn, NY, and passed away on September 5, 2024. Jerry worked as a structural ironworker for 40 years and was a proud member of New York Ironworkers Local 40, retired, 2012. His greatest joy came from being surrounded by his family. Married to his beloved wife Therese for 48 years, Jerry was a devoted father to his three children, Karen Kennedy, husband Brian, Mark Costello, wife Brianna, and Jaclyn Jolly, husband Jacob. He cherished his role as Pop to Delaney and McKenna Kennedy, Nolan Costello, and Lochlan Jolly. Nothing brought him more happiness than spending time with them. Jerry had a zest for life and enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including golfing and trying his luck at his favorite casino. He was a country music fan and loved watching shows like Blue Bloods and American Pickers. A sports enthusiast, Jerry was a loyal Ranger, Giants, and Yankee fan. Always ready to cheer on his favorite teams. Known for his infectious laughter, ability to tell a good story and willingness to help others, Jerry had a unique ability to make everyone feel comfortable in his presence. He spent many memorable summers at Lake Wallkill in Sussex, NJ, creating lasting memories with his family. Jerry is survived by his loving wife, children, grandchildren, sisters Eileen Connelly husband Joseph, Marie Keane husband James, sisters-in-law Rosemarie Costello, Mary Puca and brother-in-law John Parise along with many beloved nieces, and nephews. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
