Obituary of James T. Rogers

James T. Rogers (AKA Jimmy Halo), age 71, passed away on May 14, 2018 in Boynton Beach, Florida. He was the beloved husband of Donna (nee Vaccaro) for 48 years; loving father of James T. Rogers, Jr. and his wife, Jennifer, and Corey Rogers; cherished grandfather of Brandon, Brianna, and Bryan Rogers; dear brother of Pat McCaffery and her husband, Mickey, and the late John Rogers. He was also survived by his nephew Tom, and the late Patricia "Bubs" and Jeannie. James was born in 1947 in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Richmond Hill. He also lived in Rockaway Beach and Staten Island. After his graduation from High School, he enlisted in the US Navy. He was employed for many years as a communications worker at AT&T. He enjoyed golfing and helping others and was known for his big hugs. James was a great friend to many and loved by all. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Monday, departing at 9:45 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Roch's R.C. Church at 10:30 am. Committal will be private. Family and friends will be received on Saturday from 6 to 9 pm and Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm.
