Obituary of Jose R. Fussa, Jr.

Jose R. Fussa Jr. was born on October 3, 1971, in Manhattan, NY, and has fallen asleep in the Lord on October 1, 2024, in Brooklyn, NY, at the age of 52. Jose is preceded in death by his father, Jose R. Fussa Sr., and his brother, Frank Ezell Turner. He is survived by his sons, Matthew and Ethan Fussa, whom he shared with Evelyn Benites; his mother, Lydia with her husband, Jeff; his step-father, Frank; his aunts, Maria and Brenda; his uncle, Jeremias; his sisters, Annette, Jasmine, and Tatiana; his brother-in-law, James; as well as his nieces and nephews, Amaris, Kayla, Nyah, Jazmine, James, Jamari, Joel, Pricilla, and Jean. He is also survived by his great-niece and great-nephews, Elijah, Alayah, and Zaire. Last but certainly not least, he is survived by his cousins, Arlene, Jennifer, Brandon, Shanelle, and Natasha.

Jose had a passion for the arts, including drawing, sketching, and photography. He attended and graduated from John Jay University with an AAS degree. Jose always had great love for his family and was immensely proud of his sons. He was a funny, free-spirited soul who brought laughter to all those around him.

A memorial service in celebration of Jose Jr.’s life will be held at Matthew Funeral Home on Saturday, October 5, from 2 - 6 PM. Arrangements include private cremation.
