Giuseppe De Marco October 3,1938-October 3,2024 Born San Basile , Calabria, Italy Predeceased by,his parents, Salvatore De Marco and Marianna Bellizzi his sister Caterina De Marco (Rento) ,her surviving children, Alba and Fortunato Rento Survived by his; Wife: Grace De Marco ( Di Martino) Children: Annette Henry (Kevin) Luke and Jack, grandchildren Dawn De Marco, Noah, Matthew and Amelia grandchildren Michael De Marco (Angel) Michael and Nicholas, grandchildren Grandchildren: Danielle Solla (Michael) Joseph and Michael, great grandchildren Kelly Jackson Anthony Pica William Pica (Larissa) William and Marc, great grandchildren As well as many other beloved nieces , nephews, cousins, family members and friends. Giuseppe, fondly known asJoseph, Pino, Joe, JoJo, Dad, Pop, and Nonno Pino, emigrated from Calabria, Italy to Manhattan, New York at the age of 17 in 1956. Starting his career in Little Italy, he worked at Ferrara’s Bakery making torrone for $1 an hour and later learned the pizza business at Bari’s in the Bowery. He eventually settled on Staten Island, where he became a beloved member of the community. Pino opened his first pizzeria on New Dorp Lane with the help of his father, followed by Pino’s Pizzeria Restaurant on Midland Avenue, Midland Beach, which operated from 1958 to 1969. From 1961 to 1963, he proudly served in the U.S. Army as a cook during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Pino worked as a supervisor with the Iron Workers Union, contributing to the construction of the Twin Towers at the World Trade Center. He later transitioned to the NYC Transit Authority, where he spent many years as a supervisor before retiring. After retirement, Pino returned to his roots as an Italian chef and had the honor of cooking at the White House for President Ronald Reagan. An avid sports fan, Pino loved following the NY Jets, Mets, Knicks, various college teams as well as the Italian soccer league . He took immense pride in supporting his children and grandchildren at their sporting events, always their biggest fan. Horse racing especially was a lifelong passion, he loved, “ the ponies”. In his later years, Pino discovered a new talent for art, creating original works and recreating masterpieces such as Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper and Michelangelo’s The Creation of Adam.

Pino spent his final years at the Jersey Shore in Brick and Ocean Grove, where he made many new friends and continued to share his love of cooking and art.
