Obituary of Jose Robles
José Raul Robles, beloved son, brother, husband, father and grandfather, passed away on November 6, 2024, in Hemet, California. Born on November 9, 1963, in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, José spent his youth and early adult years in Brooklyn, NY. Despite living in California for the remainder of his life, José never lost his Brooklyn accent and remained proud of his Boricua Heritage.
José had a deep love for his family and loved spending time with his twelve grandchildren. José was known for his deep devotion to his mother and will be remembered for his love of martial arts and karate films, snacks and cakes, stargazing, watching nature documentaries and contemplating the various mysteries of the universe. He returned to New York as often as possible to be close to family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of over 30 years, Yolanda; daughters Milly, Jessica, Tiffany, Amanda and Bianca; son José Jr.; and stepchildren. As well as his parents, Margarita Guzman and Raul Robles of Staten Island and his sisters Jeanette Velasquez and Sonia Roman. He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren; Joshua, Jakob, Mikayla, Audriana, Avery, Tianna, Jordan, Madison, Kai, Mya, Kennedy, Noah, and Jolina; great granddaughter Lyla and his nieces, nephews and step grandchildren.
José's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
A viewing will be held at Matthew Funeral Home, 2508 Victory Blvd. Staten Island, NY on Monday 11/18 from 2-4 and 6-9 PM. A service will be held at the funeral home at 7PM on Monday. Family and friends can also gather at the funeral home on Tuesday 11/19 from 9-10AM. Interment to follow on Tuesday at 10:45AM at Woodland Cemetery.
