Obituary of Sandra Caruso

A native Staten Islander, Sandra Mayo Caruso passed away on May 30, 2018. Sandra is survived by her children: Kim Marrazzo and her spouse, Anthony, Frank Caruso, Denise Grillo, and Lora Melendez and her spouse, Benny. Her grandchildren: Anthony, Nicholas, Joseph, Christine, Alex, Christopher and Benny. Her great-grandson Richard. Her sisters: Patricia Saliski, Dolores Johnson and Karen McCabe. She is pre-deceased by her sisters Marie Nouvertne, Lorraine Brennen, and her twin Irene Zacaroff. After graduating from high school she married and raised her family. She was a dedicated mother and always put her children first. After raising her family she pursued a career at Staten Island Developmental Disabilities Services Office where she developed lasting friendships with her co-workers. She was always willing to help people and continuously went a step beyond to assist those in need. Sandra enjoyed traveling especially her trips to the Jersey Shore with her family. She enjoyed Atlantic City and enjoyed playing games at the casinos. A fun loving person she was always the life of the party and will be sadly missed. Sandra had a close relationship with her children and her greatest joy was when they all gathered together. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Tuesday, departing at 10:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Teresa's R.C.Church at 10:45 AM. Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 pm.
