Obituary of Carol M. LoPresti

Carol Kivlehan LoPresti of New Dorp passed away Saturday, June 2 surrounded by her loving family. Carol lived all of her life on Staten Island, growing up in New Dorp Beach with her parents Charles and Harriet and her 7 siblings. Carol was a graduate of New Dorp High School, attended Our Lady of Lourdes parish, married Anthony LoPresti, and raised four children. Carol was affectionately known to her family and closest friends as "Sweet Caroline" She had a tremendous passion for life, it's simplicity, and had a positive impact on everyone who knew her. A cup of hot coffee, sunlight through her window, and a blue sky were the moments she cherished the most. Carol spent her working career as a legal secretary for more than 30 years, retiring from Chadbourne & Park, LLP. Carol was an active member of the Korean War Veterans Association, whose Staten Island chapter was named after her brother Allan F. Kivlehan. Carol leaves a loving family, children Cynthia Fuhro (Brian), Anne Marie Baldassano (Louis), Pamela Colletti, Anthony LoPresti, Jr. (Elizabeth). Beloved grandchildren, Matthew Fuhro, Christopher, Salvatore, Elizabeth Caminiti, Lauren Leff (Michael), Nicholas Colletti, Julia & Anthony LoPresti III. Carol is survived by her sisters Barbara Coscia, Eleanor Lange (Ted), Frances Basso (Richard), Gail Graf (Paul) and Kathy Piccataggio (Richard) and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by parents, Charles and Harriet Kivlehan, her brother Allan Kivlehan and her sister Doris Heaney . Funeral is from the Matthew Funeral Home 2508 Victory Blvd. at 9:00 AM Thursday. Funeral Mass at St. Parick's RC Church at 10:00 am. Entombment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Family and friends may visit Wednesday 2:00 to 4:30 and 7:30 to 9:00 PM.
