Obituary of Fannie Cappiello
Fannie Cappiello (nee Leanza), age 87, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2018, at home, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Anthony (2015); loving mother of Gina Nellis, Salvatore, Maria Rivera and her husband, Stephen, Lisa Miller and her husband, Joe; cherished grandmother of Leah, Lauren, Lisa Anne, Stephen, Victoria, Christopher, Michael, and Avery; devoted great-grandmother of 6; dear sister of Vito Leanza, Theresa Benedetto, Anna Edwards, and Rosemarie Kaminski. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Fannie was born in 1931 in Meier's Corners and was raised there. She was a graduate of Port Richmond High School. Fannie was employed for the New York City Housing Department and the Board of Education. One of the important aspects of her life was being involved in the parish of the Holy Family and a member of their Altar Rosary Society. She was extremely close to her family, being an excellent nurturer and cook. She always had a smile on her face, and was supportive, selfless, and always offered words of encouragement to everyone. Fannie would never refuse a piece of chocolate.
Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Wednesday, departing at 9:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled at Holy Family R.C. Church at 10 am. Entombment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday from 2 to 4:30 and 7 to 9 pm.
