Obituary of Nancy R. Parone

Nancy Rose Parone (Carinci) passed away peacefully with family at her bedside. She fought cancer for six years and her heroic battle finally came to an end on July 12, 2018. She was born on October 4,1951 on Staten Island, NY and was a life-long resident. Nancy graduated from Sacred Heart Grammar School, and St. Peter's High School for Girls. Upon completion she attended and graduated from Kings County School of Nursing in 1972. Several years later she completed her Bachelor's degree in Health Administration from St. Joseph's College. Upon her graduation from Kings County Nancy began her nursing career at Richmond Memorial Hospital on Staten Island. She progressed to Geriatric Psych Manager at the SI University Hospital South Site retiring in 2011. Nancy's life was her family especially her children and grandchildren. She was always caring and couldn't do enough for you. Her son, Brian, was always the light of her life. She enjoyed decorating for the holidays and making every occasion festive. Nancy enjoyed vacationing at the shore and taking trips with her family. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, Stephen, and family vacationing in Cancun, Atlantic City, Florida and the Jersey shore. Her husband, Stephen said, "She was my greatest supporter and fan at all my races." She especially enjoyed going to see her husband run the Disney Marathon every year. Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Stephen; two loving children, Melissa (Nick) Pinto and Brian Samuelson and three fantastic grandchildren, Nicholas, Eric and Grace; and her brother Richard (Irene), her brother PJ (Sandy) and sister Betty (Ed). Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., on Monday, departing at 9:15 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady Star of the Sea R.C. Church at 10:15 am. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Family and friends will be received on Saturday from 7 to 9:30 pm and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9:30 pm.
