Obituary of William Maldonado

WILLIAM MALDONADO passed away on Sunday morning at the age of 92 years old. A proud native of Ponce, Puerto Rico, William came to live in New York in the 1950's with his wife and children. He established himself as a carpenter for Conte Casket Company, later moving on to own his own Custom Carpentry business in the East Village of New York. By 1964, William had become an entrepreneur. He owned various businesses such as a pizzeria & Restaurant on tenth street in New York, and a candy shop. In later years, he involved himself as a provider of amusement and vendor at food & craft festivals throughout the tri-state area.

He will be remembered as a loving, happy man, who loved life, loved his family, and believed in hard work. He enjoyed music, games, cooking and baseball.  He is pre-deceased by his wife, Alma, to whom he was married for 50 years, and his grand-daughter, Karisa. He is survived by his two sons: William and Richard, and his three daughters: Martha, Alma and Gina. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
