Obituary of Robert P. Miuccio Sr.
Native Staten lslander and FDNY Battalion Chief Robert P. Miuccio, Sr. passed away on July 12th at his son's home.
Robert was born on April 16,1942 in the old Staten lsland Hospital. During his childhood he lived in Stapleton, Tompkinsville and South Beach. He went to Brooklyn Tech High School and then joined the Air Force. While stationed up in Cape Cod, he met Linda Lee Yarbrough. They eloped, married and had three children Robert Jr, Michael and Jacqueline. The family then resided in
Westerleigh.
Robert joined the FDNY in 1968 and retired in 2007. During that time he was
assigned to L45, L113. L147 and Batt 22. He spent the first three months at the 9/11 World Trade Center site. ln March of 2O16, he was diagnosed with 9/11 related cancer. He fought bravely and with dignity until his death. He enjoyed coaching basketball, softball, baseball and soccer for his grandchildren Sabrina and William as well as all the other children from Blessed Sacrament Titan League/CYO.
He was a long time parishioner and usher at Holy Family Church. He worked a second job as a plumber for Liquori, Viking and Allison Plumbing. His spoken words were often valuable and beneficial for all those who knew him. He will be missed by all. His wife Linda passed away in 2007. He was the dear brother of Mary Urs and her husband Dr. Krishne Urs and the brother the late Richard Miuccio who was killed in 9/11. Brother in law of Ben Yarbrough. He was the father-in-law of Christine Miuccio and is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., on Friday, departing at 11 am. Funeral Mass at Holy Family Church on Friday at 11 30 am. Interment to follow in Moravian Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to visit on Wednesday night from 6 to 9 pm and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 pm.

Robert Miuccio, FDNY Battalion Chief died Thursday, July 12 after a long battle with 9/11 related cancers. Robert was born on April 16, 1942 in Staten Island. During his childhood he lived in Stapleton, Tompkinsville and South Beach. He went to Brooklyn Tech High School and then joined the United States Air Force. While stationed in Cape Cod he met the love of his life, Linda Lee Yarbrough whom he married 3 months later. The couple moved to Roberts native Staten Island and raised their three children, Robert Jr., Michael and Jacqueline at their home in Westerleigh.
Robert joined the FDNY in 1968 and retired in 2007. During his career he was assigned to L45 L113, L147 and Batt 22. In March of 2016, he was diagnosed with 9/11 related cancers as he was a First Responder at Ground Zero. Miuccio's brother Richard perished in the terror attacks, but Robert continued for the next 3 ½ months leading firefighter efforts to recover the remains of the dead.
He was a long time parishioner and usher at Holy Family Church. His wife Linda passed away in 2009. He was the dear brother of Mary Urs and the late Richard Miuccio who was killed in 9/11. He is survived by his three children Robert, Michael and Jacqueline, his two grandchildren Sabrina Lynn, William, his daughter in law Christine and many nieces and nephews.
