Obituary of Theresa Castellano

Theresa Castellano (Helmerson) passed away peacefully at home at the age of 82 after a battle with breast cancer.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, she is a graduate of New Utrecht High School. Theresa and her husband married in 1967. In 1978, she relocated with her family to Staten Island, NY, and 2003 she and her husband retired to Wesley Chapel, Florida.

Theresa was an avid gardener and loved to travel, especially on cruises. She and her husband David loved to take the family with them on many vacations, making many memories. She will always be remembered for her generous heart.

Theresa is predeceased by her husband, David, of 41 years and her son Charles. She was the dear sister of Gloria Grace. Loving mother to William, Christa Rygiel and her husband Peter, and Susan. Devoted grandmother to Megan, Peter, and Jason Rygiel.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Susan G Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer Research.

Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home Inc., 2508 Victory Blvd. A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 23, 2018 at 11:30 AM in St Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY.
