Obituary of Nancy Zarrelli

Nancy Zarrelli (Carrara) passed away peacefully at home on Sunday August 5, 2018. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Zarrelli for 43 years, loving mother to her late son Martin, and predeceased brothers Martin and John Carrara. She is survived by her son Joseph and daughter-in-law Margaret, and daughter Camille; cherished granddaughter Gabriella Jo. Nancy Zarrelli was born on Staten Island, New York on March 25, 1933, the daughter of Martin Carrara and Helen Ceiro. She grew up in West Brighton and was a graduate of Mc Kee High School. She lived at home until she married. She met and married Joseph Zarrelli on March 3, 1951. The couple owned a deli and raised their 3 children. Soon after the couple moved to Sunnyside in 1962. Nancy loved her family and always supported their goals and was proud of all their accomplishments. Soon after their move to Sunnyside ,Nancy Zarrelli became a Manager at Gilson's Uniforms and Life Uniforms, where she was the recipient of many awards for her outstanding achievements. She was an exemplary addition to both the Gilson and Life Uniform family. Nancy will be remembered as a devoted, caring wife, mother and grandmother. Nancy loved to dance, travel, celebrate the holidays with her family and friends, and was an avid dog lover. Her dog Prince, a rescue, was by her side every moment of every day. They were inseparable. In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard on Tuesday, departing at 10 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Teresa's R. C. Church at 10:45 am. Interment to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery. Family and friends will be received on Monday from 5:00 to 9:00 pm.
