Obituary of Angelina Pignatelli

Angelina Pignatelli (nee Stagnitta), age 77, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2018, at Staten Island University Hospital North. She was the beloved wife of Anthony Pignatelli for 57 years; loving mother of Rose Marie Pignatelli and Claudia Pignatelli-Toro and her wife Melissa Toro; dear sister of Salvatore Stagnitta (Ann), Robert Stagnitta (late Alice), Ann Marie Trovato (Russ), the late Frances Leotta (late Joseph), fond sister-in-law of Concetta Russo (Michael). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Angelina was born in Brooklyn in 1941, and raised in Cobble Hill. She was a graduate of Prospect Heights High School. She relocated to Staten Island in 1978. She was employed as a clerk for 25 years at Staten Island University Hospital North, retiring in 2006. In her spare time she enjoyed shopping, trips to Atlantic City, spending time with her cats, and enjoying her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to the Nalitt Cancer Institute of Staten Island University Hospital (256 Mason Avenue, S.I., NY 10305). Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Saturday, departing at 8:45 am. Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:45 am at St. Clare's R.C. Church. Entombment to follow in Holy Cross Burial Park, East Brunswick, NJ. Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 6:00 to 9:00 pm and Friday from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
