Obituary of Muriel Burns

Muriel Burns (nee Jacobsen) 90, died peacefully on September 4, 2018 at Clove Lakes Nursing Home. Born in Brooklyn to Norris and Edna Jacobsen. Muriel met and married her husband Robert in 1951. Muriel had a wonderful life she shared with Robert who was a veteran and moved around until they settled back in Brooklyn.

Muriel enjoyed crafting. She worked at JCPenney for 37 years. She was a member of AARP and was a volunteer at Clove Lakes NH. Muriel was one of the nicest and easy going ladies you would want to meet.

She is predeceased by her husband Robert, and parents Norris & Edna; and son Paul. She leaves behind her loving daughter Susan Burns, her cherished grandchildren Michael, Matthew and Samantha, her adored great grandchildren Michael, Anthony, Joseph, Nicholas and one on the way, and her sister Carol Snyder.

Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Friday, 9/7. Funeral Service will be held at Matthew Funeral Home at 9:00 am. Interment to follow in Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, NY. Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
