Obituary of Anne Carfagna

Anne Carfagna of Staten Island passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family, on Sept. 26, 2018. She was born on Nov.16,1924 in Brooklyn, NY. She was married to the late Joseph Carfagna with whom she celebrated 64 years of marriage. She loved to cook and watch cooking shows, flowers were her favorite as well as toast and butter for breakfast. She was an amazing house wife and mother of four. Anne is survived by her daughters Joanne Carfagna, Barbara Updale, and son Thomas Carfagna and the late John Carfagna. Anne is survived by her brother John and late brothers Philip and Nino Portelli. She lived home with her daughter Joanne and two grandchildren Christina and Victoria Aviles. She is also survived by 7 more grandchildren. Anne always wanted her nails to look nice and that was Christina's job. She loved traveling with her husband to Lancaster, PA and sitting on the deck surrounded by her family and listening to the radio at the dining room table or laying down to watch the soap operas was her daily routine. Holidays were special for her Italian dishes as well as Sundays for pasta. Visitation will be on Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 at Matthews Funeral Home, 2508 Victory Blvd. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady Queen of Peace R.C. Church on Wednesday at 10:30 am. Interment to follow at Moravian Cemetery.
